Write for Us — Submit a Guest Post
No Varnish publishes independent, data-driven analysis of AI marketing tools. We accept contributions from marketing professionals, SaaS practitioners, and subject-matter experts who can bring original insight to our readers.
If you have genuine expertise in SEO, PPC, email marketing, analytics, CRM, or marketing technology and something worth saying, here's how to contribute.
What Do We Publish?
Everything on No Varnish is built on evidence, not opinion. We accept guest articles that meet the same standard. Here are the content types we publish:
Tool Reviews
In-depth analysis of AI marketing tools — pricing breakdowns, feature audits, aggregated user data from G2/Capterra, and documented performance metrics.
Comparisons
Head-to-head tool matchups with structured data: feature tables, pricing analysis, use-case recommendations for different team sizes and budgets.
Data Reports
Original research and analysis — pricing trends, adoption rates, ROI benchmarks. Every number sourced and cited.
Strategy Guides
Actionable frameworks for marketing teams evaluating or implementing AI tools. Grounded in real workflows, not theory.
What Are Our Guest Post Guidelines?
These aren't suggestions. Every guest post we publish meets these requirements:
- Data-driven analysis only. No "I tried it for a week" impressions. Cite published benchmarks, aggregated reviews, documented case studies, and verifiable pricing data.
- Every claim sourced. Statistics, pricing, and performance numbers need inline citations with links to primary sources.
- No vendor marketing. We don't publish thinly disguised product pitches. If you work for a tool vendor, disclose it upfront — we may still work with you, but transparency is non-negotiable.
- Question-based H2s. Every section heading is phrased as a question the reader would actually search for, followed by a direct answer in the first paragraph.
- Multi-persona coverage. Address at least 2–3 reader segments (e.g., solo marketer vs. agency vs. enterprise) so content serves a range of use cases.
- Original work. No AI-generated drafts submitted as-is, no repurposed content from other publications, no plagiarism. AI tools as research aids are fine — AI tools as ghostwriters are not.
Who Do We Work With?
We work with contributors who have genuine expertise in one or more of these areas:
You don't need a massive following or publishing history. You do need demonstrable knowledge and the ability to write clearly and back up your claims with data.
How Do I Submit a Guest Post?
Send your pitch to [email protected] with the subject line "Write for Us: [Your Topic]". Include:
Topic & angle
What tool or topic you want to cover, and what makes your take different from what's already out there.
Outline
A rough structure with proposed H2s (as questions). We want to see your analytical framework, not just a topic name.
Your background
A few sentences on your relevant experience. Links to published work if you have them.
Data sources
What primary sources will you draw from? We want to see that you've done preliminary research.
What Should Contributors Expect?
- Response time: We reply to every submission within 5 business days.
- Editorial process: Accepted pieces go through at least one round of editing. We'll work with you to get the article right — not rewrite it into something unrecognizable.
- Byline: Every contributor gets a full author byline with bio and credentials.
- Exclusivity: We ask for a 30-day exclusivity window. After that, you're free to republish with a canonical link back to No Varnish.
- Promotion: Published pieces are shared across our newsletter and social channels.
What We Don't Accept
- Thinly veiled promotional content or advertorials
- Content generated entirely by AI without substantial human analysis
- Generic listicles with no original insight or data
- Previously published or syndicated content (unless substantially reworked)
- Pieces that read like product documentation or vendor FAQs
If you're not sure whether your idea fits, pitch it anyway. The worst we'll say is no.
